The auto lab is used to test voice applications from inside the cabin because the acoustics inside a car cannot be replicated in a sound room. This allows us to optimize and tune our algorithms for vehicle hands-free and communication applications.

 
In this test, the dummy is “speaking” in the driver’s seat and a car kit is clipped on the visor to transmit the speech over the cellular network. There is other equipment in the cockpit to evaluate the noise and allow for adjustments to the testing scenario.
